Businesses in the Bay of Colwyn can use #WeAreBayOfColwyn in social media posts to benefit from the promotion

What is the purpose, how does your business benefit?

Part of the reason the BID was set up was to encourage the local residents to use the local shops and take advantage of what we have available locally, a strong connection between residential and business communities make a place thrive. Marketing an area with a collective campaign open to all businesses gives the community a stronger voice than various individual campaigns.

The summer promotion is a marketing project which we worked on with North Wales Tourism as part of our 2019/20 marketing partnership. The promotion with be continued on Social Media throughout the summer holidays and is an opportunity for businesses in the area to cross promote.

People may not know everything about what is available locally and sometimes need a reminder – #WeAreBayOfColwyn is a tool to bring the businesses and residents together. The provision of the water bottles ties in with our soon to be launched Refill Colwyn Project which encourages the use of reusable bottles and less single use plastic. The scheme has a proven track record of increasing footfall to businesses and the feedback so far has been very encouraging.

With the very kind help of the schools we were able to reach the local community and get the #WeAreBayOfColwyn message out there. This ties in with our objectives and everything the BID was set up to do originally.
